Role: Chief Creative & Brand Officer | XPRIZE
The new space race is on and this time Google is funding private teams to go where no one has gone before. The $30M Google Lunar XPRIZE is incentivizing teams from around the world to put a rover on the Moon to drive low-cost methods of robotic space exploration.
Given the complexity of the competition, the task was to maintain and spike interest and advocacy over a considerable amount of time. I approached the competition as if it were a theatrical film to engage the audience at various milestones with one-sheets, videos, team highlights, Reddit AMAs, social media campaigns, a J.J. Abrams-produced documentary series ("Moon Shot"), and a full-length Dome Show feature, "Back to the Moon: For Good," narrated by "to-infinity-and-beyond" flyboy, Buzz, uh, ahem...Tim Allen.
